Overview

Fujifilm's X-T30 II mirrorless camera is distinguished by its advanced video and still imaging, as well as its comfortable and intuitive handling characteristics. In addition to recording high-quality still images and 4K video, the camera also features a revised image sensor and processor for fast, accurate focusing. An APS-C-format X-Trans CMOS 4 image sensor with 26.1MP provides higher-quality images across a wider sensitivity range and a 425-point phase-detection autofocus system, allowing for quick, accurate AF tracking. A new Face Selection function enables users to detect faces and eyes with 100% phase-detect autofocus. Furthermore, the X-Processor 4 utilizes four CPUs for faster image processing, 3 fps continuous shooting with a mechanical shutter and a 1.25x crop, and 30 fps video recording with internal DCI/UHD 4K30. In addition to the camera body, the XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS Lens is a versatile zoom that can be used in a variety of situations. It offers an equivalent focal length range of 27-84mm, allowing the user to capture wide-angle and telephoto perspectives with ease. There are three aspherical and one low dispersion element for combating aberrations in the f/2.8-4 maximum aperture range. The linear autofocus motor ensures fast focusing, while the optical image stabilizer ensures that camera shake is minimized.

Key Features

  • X-T30 II shares a sensor with the professional-oriented X-T3, featuring a 26.1MP APS-C-format X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor with back illumination, enabling smooth tonal rendering and improved low-light performance. Due to the omission of an optical low-pass filter, it has the same randomized pixel array as an X-Trans sensor, providing excellent image quality and sharpness. In contrast to conventional pixel patterns, the X-Trans design mimics the organic properties of the film in order to produce more subtle colour and tonal transitions, while also reducing moiré and aliasing.
  • Additionally, the sensor's design includes a phase-detection autofocus system with 425 selectable points nearly covering the entire sensor area. The AF system provides faster and more accurate focusing performance as well as low-light sensitivity down to EV -3. Along with the imaging and focusing capabilities, an updated X-Processor 4 delivers faster focus response for tracking subjects as well as Face- and Eye-Detection autofocus when working in AF-C mode and when recording video.
  • Additionally, the X-Processor 4 uses four CPU units for faster image processing and better overall performance. A mechanical shutter can capture up to 8 frames per second and an electronic shutter, with a 1.25x crop. You can also record internal UHD 4K30 video with F-Log.
  • The X-T30 is more than just a stills camera; it also offers an array of video capabilities, including internal UHD 4K30 video recording at up to 200 Mbps, and simultaneous external and internal recording. MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, HEVC/H.265 and even DCI 4K30 and Full HD 1080p120 can be used to store video files. As a result, the high read speeds of the quad-core X-Processor 4 greatly improve overall video performance when recording 4K video, reducing moving subjects.
  • Additionally, the X-T30 features the F-Log gamma setting, which produces a flat image for use in advanced colour grading software. This maxim doing so, the dynamic range of difficult scenes is maximized, and image adjustments can be made, as well as highlighting shadow, and colour tones. An updated noise reduction algorithm is available when working in F-Log, along with 4K inter-frame noise reduction, and the minimum noise level is with 4K inter-frame noise reduction, and the minimum sensitivity has been lowered to ISO 640 to suit working in a broader range of scene types.
  • The X-Processor 4 quad-core CPU inside X-T30 II offers fast, accurate autofocusing in as little as 0.02 sec on any subject, but significant enhancements have been made to track moving subjects, optimizing autofocus for both stills and its powerful 4K/30p video capabilities. Low light focusing performance has also been expanded from the original model, down to -7EV. 425 100% phase detect AF across the frame, with a strong face and eye detection AF with the new Face Selection option.
  • A bright and clear means for eye-level viewing, a 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder offers a 0.62x magnification with a fast refresh rate, wide viewing angle, and adjustable diopter settings. The viewfinder remains blackout free while shooting up to the top 30 fps shooting rate, and a unique Sports Finder Mode can also be employed, which highlights a 16.6MP crop area of the sensor in order to allow you to see outside of the image frame.
  • In addition to the EVF, a rear 3.0" 1.04m-dot LCD touchscreen is available for intuitive live view shooting, playback and review, and settings adjustment and menu navigation. The screen has a two-way tilting design to suit working from high and low angles regardless of shooting with a horizontal or vertical orientation.
  • The top plate incorporates a series of dials and levers for fast, intuitive control over exposure settings, including a shutter speed dial that offers direct shutter speed adjustment, a mode dial, and an exposure compensation dial to choose +/- 3 EV in 1/3 steps, while a command dial position expands the range to +/- 5 EV for further control.
  • Front and rear command dials integrate a push function for easier use and settings selection and function buttons can be assigned to control a range of settings.
  • A dedicated Focus Lever provides faster, more intuitive control over selecting specific focus points while shooting.
  • Integrated Bluetooth 4.2 low energy allows you to wirelessly share images to a mobile device or use the device to remotely control the camera.
  • The X-T30 II integrates several Film Simulation modes based on Fujifilm's extensive experience with traditional film-based photography.
