Overview

Nikon's AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED is a 25.5-82.5mm-equivalent zoom that features a bright maximum aperture and sophisticated optical design. The constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 provides advantages under difficult lighting conditions and also allows for greater control over the depth of field when using selective focus techniques. There are three aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements incorporated in the optical design to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range. For better contrast and colour accuracy, a Super Integrated Coating minimizes surface reflections, flare, and ghosting. In addition to the optics, this lens also has a Silent Wave Motor for fast and accurate autofocus.
