Tamron's 20mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 Lens from their full-frame mirrorless E-mount lineup is a flexible wide-angle prime lens. By using an OSD stepping motor, fast and near-silent autofocus is achieved along with full time manual focus override. Furthermore, the lens features a moisture-resistant design coupled with a fluorine coating to accommodate working in rainy conditions. Its diminutive and lightweight profile makes it ideal for everyday b-roll and walkaround shooting despite its moderately bright maximum aperture. With a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 and a 4.3-inch minimum focusing distance, it is also versatile enough to work with close-up subjects.
An aspherical moulded glass element suppresses distortion and spherical aberrations, thus ensuring greater accuracy and sharpness.
Attractive bokeh quality is created by a seven-blade diaphragm.
This lens offers a 1:2 maximum magnification capable of working with close-ups, as well as a minimum focusing distance of 4.3" to accommodate close-ups.
In addition to offering quiet, fast, and precise autofocus performance, the OSD stepping motor allows full-time manual focus override.
Lens elements have been coated with BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) to reduce reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for enhanced colour accuracy and contrast.
This lens' moisture-resistant design makes it suitable for use in inclement weather, and a fluorine coating on the front of the lens minimizes dust, dirt, and smearing.
There is three Low Dispersion (LD) elements designed to reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing in order to increase clarity and colour fidelity.
It provides a 30mm equivalent focal length when used with Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, however, and can also be used with APS-C models.
In addition to being modestly bright, a maximum aperture of f/2.8 is also highly compact and lightweight, so that it can be utilized in any lighting condition.
